4 Simple Steps to Create a Blog Post in WordPress

In this tutorial you will learn How to Write a Blog Post in WordPress. Writing a blog post in WordPress is pretty easy. Below are the some basic steps for beginners to write a blog post in WordPress.

Step 1:  Log in to WordPress Admin Panel

The very first thing you need to login in to your WordPress website admin panel.
Go to your website login page (example: “http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin”).

Enter your username and password and click on the “Login” button.



Step 2: Write a Blog Post in WordPress

Once you’re in Dashboard, Go to the Post tab on the left side of the dashboard screen and Click on the “Add New” link under the Post section.



Now on the post editing area, you need to start filling in the following fields.

  • Post Title (Enter your headline or blog post title into this textbox)
  • Post Body (Enter your post content into the text area)

When writing your blog post, you have two different editing modes:

  • Visual mode (Visual Editor is the default mode and displays the HTML styles not the code itself).
  • Text mode (The Text mode allows you to write your blog post in HTML code).



Step 3: Creating Blog Post Categories and Tags

Categories and Tags provide easy way to group related posts and help you to increase your website traffic via search engines.

On the right column of the Post editor you’ll see Categories and Tags Modules.

Using these modules you can create new categories or tags. Also you can select the categories or tags which you created.



Step 4: Save or Publish Blog Post

At the top of the right section you’ll see the Publish Module. In this module you can save your blog post as a draft for later use or Click on the “Publish” button to make your blog post live immediately. You can also schedule it to be published later.

When you ready click on the “Publish” button.
